Frequently Asked Questions

Allergies and sensitivities are caused by an inappropriate reaction to harmless substances. The word “allergy” comes from the Greek allos, meaning “other”. It was first used in 1906 to refer to an “altered reaction” in the body’s immune system.

A “true allergy” is a reaction triggered by the immune system, however there are a vast number of symptoms or conditions caused by sensitivities that may or may not involve the immune system. With reactions involving food, a large percentage of the population believe they have allergies, yet fewer than 2% actually have true allergies. In fact, many suffer from undiagnosed food sensitivities or intolerances. The majority of patients who seek the AAT treatment do not have true allergies; their symptoms are likely to be caused by sensitivities with no immune involvement. Since there are few options for the treatment of sensitivities, other than avoidance, AAT provides a highly effective alternative. Symptoms caused by true allergies, however, also respond well to the treatment as the organs systems involved in the reaction are also addressed.

The use of the word “allergy” has become a generic term used by the public to describe allergies, sensitivities and intolerances.

The human body must navigate through an increasingly complex world and determine what is safe and what is a threat. This process has been complicated by the introduction of many chemicals, pollutants and other factors into the environment, as well as the vast number of foods and products now available from all over the world. These rapid changes are challenging for the body to adapt to in such a relatively short time span. When the body mistakes a harmless substance (such as those found in foods, natural airborne particles, household pets, jewelry, etc.) the unnecessary reactions caused by this error can burden the whole system.

These errant reactions to harmless substances contribute to a wide variety of symptoms and conditions. Such conditions are often difficult to treat with either conventional medicine or integrative medicine therapies and avoidance is the most common approach. AAT meets this need in treatment options for those who suffer from symptoms associated with allergies and sensitivities and provides a way for the body to adapt to the external world in a healthy manner.

Advanced Allergy Therapeutics (AAT) is the leading choice for families looking for a holistic, safe, non-invasive, highly effective, and long-lasting relief o symptoms associated with allergies and sensitivities.

AAT is an advanced proprietary technology only available from authorized and trained, licensed healthcare professionals.  All AAT practitioners must hold a valid medical license within their state.  Each practitioner utilizes the same protocols and administers the same technique using the digital signals of the allergens to treat.

Advanced Allergy Therapeutics (AAT) is a clinically proven treatment that is highly effective in relieving the many symptoms associated with allergies and sensitivities. It is a therapeutic approach that was developed from almost 20 years of clinical research. The AAT treatment does not rely on the use of medications, herbal remedies or supplements. The treatment is safe, painless and available to all ages including infants.

The AAT method does not use needles, but instead utilizes a precision-based acupressure technique to treat the organ systems involved in an allergic reaction. The stimulation of specific points on either side of the spine (known as the Sympathetic Chain) directly accesses an individual organ system and improves the state of that system. Those points on the body are utilized in a unique and innovative way that allows for the success of the AAT therapy. This unique approach is highly effective in correcting the inappropriate organ response that triggers the symptoms thus relieving those symptoms.

These errant reactions to harmless substances contribute to a wide variety of symptoms and conditions. AAT meets this need in treatment options for those who suffer from symptoms associated with allergies and sensitivities and provides a way for the body to adapt to the external world in a healthy manner.

Our bodies consist of various major organ systems, such as the Digestive System, the Respiratory System, etc. Allergies and sensitivities occur when harmless substances trigger the Sympathetic Nervous System (commonly known as the Fight or Flight mechanism) to cause inappropriate reactions in different organ systems of a person’s body. We experience those inappropriate reactions as symptoms. Advanced Allergy Therapeutics works directly with the relationship between those organ systems and the symptoms they are triggering.

While the immune system is responsible for initiating an immune reaction in the case of true allergies, it is the health and state of the organ systems within a person’s body that determines the type of symptoms that may arise. For example, one person may have a reaction to dairy by getting rashes while another person may react with sinus congestion, heartburn or Irritable Bowel Syndrome. The symptoms in each of these cases represent a different organ system involved. By treating the organ system(s) involved in a reaction, your body is able to respond more appropriately.

The degree of stress on your body’s organ system caused by an allergen or offending agent, is proportional to the degree of the negative reaction. Simply put, that means, the worse your symptoms are indicates how badly the allergen affects that organ system. In other words, if ragweed merely makes your nose itchy, ragweed is mildly stressing your respiratory organ system. On the other hand, if ragweed makes you miserable, makes your eyes and sinuses swell and you are unable to breathe or see clearly, then ragweed is severely stressing your respiratory organ system.

During AAT treatment, gentle pressure is used on points located on either side of the spine that correspond with the organ systems involved in a specific allergic reaction. At the same time, a subtle representation of the offending substance is introduced to the surface of the skin through a digital signal. The stimulation reduces the stress on the effected organ system, allowing for a more healthy response.

All holistic fields of medicine are aligned in their approach to treat the whole body. They share the understanding that health conditions may develop as a result of interference in proper functioning caused by various forms of stress or other factors. Reducing the stress or interference allows for optimal health. In other words, whenever stress is reduced to any organ in your body, your whole body is able to respond more appropriately. AAT merges 21st century medical science and technology to effectively tackle the 21st century allergy epidemic.

Safe, painless, effective, and gentle enough for infants and the elderly

A sensitivity or inappropriate reaction may cause symptoms from any organ system in the body. Some systems are prone to reacting to certain families of allergies or substances, such as the respiratory system reacting to pollen. However, a substance may affect any organ system, which could cause a multitude of symptoms varying from case to case. For example, a reaction to wheat may cause hives in one person, digestive issues in another, and fatigue or wheezing or Acid Reflux in other patients. AAT addresses the specific organ systems affected by the allergen or offending substance. In other words, multiple symptoms can be triggered by a single allergen, substance or stimuli. And a single symptom can be triggered by multiple allergens, substances or stimuli. It is important to remember that every individual is unique and their set of symptoms to the same allergen can vary from person to person.

Digestive System

Symptoms include acid reflux, heartburn, abdominal and intestinal pain, cramping, gas, bloating, nausea, diarrhea and vomiting.  Primarily caused by food allergens or other ingestants. IBS, Irritable Bowel Syndrome, is primarily caused by sensitivities and affects approximately 15% of the population. Common symptoms of IBS include diarrhea, constipation, and bloating and abdominal pain.

Respiratory System

Symptoms include sneezing, congestion, runny nose, wheezing, shortness of breath, asthma, coughs, postnasal drip, skin conditions, rashes and itchy, watery eyes. Reactions may be associated with pollens, dust, food, chemicals and animals (including dog and cat dander and bird feathers), airborne substances and contacts. Symptoms associated with an allergy or sensitivity can contribute to asthma.

Dermatological (Skin)

Skin conditions, such as eczema, dermatitis and hives are commonly associated with the symptoms of an allergy or sensitivity. Symptoms may include red, itchy, or scaly skin rashes, blisters with oozing and crusting, dry leathery patches or hives. The main cause of dermatological reactions can be a reaction to food but can also be caused by plants, contactants and chemicals.

Headaches and Migraines

Often caused by reactions to food such as chocolate and caffeine, airborne irritants such as pollens and chemicals including household cleaners, perfumes and vehicle fumes.

Tiredness and Fatigue

Many reactions result in lethargy and feelings of fatigue. Tiredness can also occur at certain times of the day, such as in the afternoon after eating.

Multiple Systems including Behavior, Mood Swings, ADHD

Symptoms may affect multiple systems in the body, resulting in headaches, irritability, hyperactivity, mood swings, fatigue, tachycardia, or inflammation. Symptoms associated with an allergy or sensitivity can contribute to Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) and Attention Deficit and Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). However not all cases involve allergies or sensitivities.

The AAT treatment can only address symptoms caused by inappropriate reactions to harmless substances or stimuli. If the condition involves pathogens, (bacteria, viruses or parasites) the treatment will not be able to affect such cases.

We cannot treat Celiac Disease because it is an autoimmune disease.  If your symptoms are related to a sensitivity to wheat or gluten, the treatment can be very effective.  However, Celiac Disease is not an allergy.   Our daughter has Celiac Disease and we have been involved in Celiac community nationally for over 20 years.  Strict avoidance of gluten is required if you have Celiac Disease.

AAT cannot treat true lactose intolerance.  Again, if the symptoms are related to a sensitivity to milk or other dairy products, the treatment can be very effective. However, lactose intolerance in not an allergy, it is the inability to digest certain amounts of lactose, the major sugar found in milk. The condition is caused by a deficiency of the enzyme lactase, which is produced by the cells of the lining in the small intestine. Lactose intolerance is often confused with dairy allergies because the symptoms are similar, yet they are unrelated. However, the two conditions can occur together and, in such cases, our treatments can offer partial benefit.

We do not treat conditions involving anaphylactic or life-threatening reactions. Strict avoidance is always advised. However, patients with an anaphylactic reaction may be treated for other sensitivities that are not life threatening.

While AAT can treat the many symptoms associated with allergies or sensitivities, some cases do not respond to the treatment.

The first visit can last up to two hours. We either email or send you in advance the office forms you need to read and complete before your first visit.  However, you must arrive 30 minutes prior to the Initial Session to complete additional necessary forms. After an initial consultation, you will have a detailed clinical assessment of all major symptom triggers shown on the New Patient Information Form.  You will also receive a treatment on your initial visit as well as schedule future visits to complete your treatment plan for the best results.

Everyone is unique and reacts differently to the same allergens.  Some people feel more energy or more relaxed. Some patients do not feel any difference right after treatment due to the number of substances causing their symptoms.  In most cases, patients feel some symptom relief within 24 hours for the particular allergen family treated but must be treated for all allergen families to get the best result.

Many cases respond quickly to the treatment and achieve long-term results within the first 15 to 20 treatments. However, each case is different and most patients require additional treatments if they are reacting to many different substances and allergen families.

The number of sessions required depends on the number of items causing a reaction.  For example, a patient who reacts to five families of substances (dairy, wheat, corn, animal dander and pollen) will require more treatments than someone who reacts to fewer families of substances.   However, we usually need to treat some preliminary substances before we can begin treating the primary offending allergen family.  For example, all foods break down into vitamins, minerals, and sugars and food phenolics.  If there is a sensitivity to any of those, they must be treated before any food. The same is true for environmental offenders. There are preliminary treatments that must be done before we can treat the environmental offenders.

The Initial Session takes approximately 60 minutes which includes an assessment and one treatment. Follow-Up Sessions take 15 to 30 minutes and include one treatment.

  • Please do not smoke or wear perfume or fragrances prior to coming into the clinic. This is a courtesy to other patients who may be sensitive to those substances.
  • Please bring any allergy tests from medical doctors to the Initial Session but prior testing is not required.
  • Do not eat or chew gum during the treatment session.
  • Prescription or over-the-counter medications will not affect the treatment.
  • Patients do not need to stop taking medication that has been prescribed by a medical doctor without his/her authorization. You may continue taking over the counter medication to control current symptoms until enough treatments are done for relief, as this will not affect the treatment.

Following a session, a patient should avoid the substance that was treated for 2 hours, if possible. Depending on the item addressed, avoidance is not always possible. It is recommended that the patient not have excessive contact with the item until the following day.    For all treatments involving food or internal digestive organs, no eating for 2 hours after a treatment is required.

Although we can only treat one allergen family at a time, you can be treated twice in one day if there is a two-hour window between treatments.

As with any medical treatment, AAT cannot guarantee results; however, the majority of our patients respond favorably to the AAT treatment on a long-term basis. We cannot guarantee that new symptoms will not develop in the future. While AAT may be highly effective in the relief of many symptoms associated with allergies or sensitivities, some cases do not respond.

We do not offer any conventional allergy testing. Patients are encouraged to bring in allergy tests from their physicians.

No. AAT (Advanced Allergy Therapeutics) is not N.A.E.T (Nambudripad’s Allergy Elimination Techniques).  N.A.E.T. utilizes homeopathic solutions. AAT uses digital signals that can get down to the molecular level of the allergen making AAT a more complete treatment.
